Project - Establishment of Integrated Storm Water Management System in Lielupe River Basin

Description: Šiauliai (LT), Bauska, Jelgava and Jurmala (LV) cities, situated in the Lielupe river basin, and are the main polluters of the river. The problem of storm water, as a source of pollution in densely populated areas, has not been duly addressed in these areas. The overall objective of the project is to decrease pollution in Lielupe river basin resulting from untreated storm water. The project elaborates action plan for further integrated management of storm water in Lielupe river basin; deeply analyzes current situation in storm water treatment in all partner cities and gained tools for further efficient investments (construction) planning and supervision and raises public awareness on nature protection in Lielupe river basin.
