Die Kooperation für Musik in der Großregion (CMGR) erstrebt: 1. Die Vernetzung der musikalischen Bildungseinrichtungen (Konservatorien und Musikhochschulen) der Großregion mit dem Ziel, eine musikalische Plattform auf europäischer Ebene zu schaffen. 2. Das Einrichten gemeinsamer Bildungsangebote, die den neuen Erfordernissen an die musikalische Bildung entsprechen: Orchestererfahrung unter professionellen Bedingungen, das Öffnen des Projektes für ein musikalisches Repertoire, das hochkarätigen Orchestern vorbehalten ist, intensive Arbeit mit international anerkannten Dirigenten, pädagogische Konzerte, Masterclasses 3. Verstärkte Mobilität der Studierenden, der Professoren und des Publikums innerhalb der Großregion 4. das Sensibilisieren nicht nur des breiten Publikums, sondern auch eines spezifischeren Publikums für den musikalischen und kulturellen Reichtum der Großregion durch das Organisieren von Konzerten auf hohem Niveau (grenzüberschreitende Orchester oder Ensembles) innerhalb und möglicherweise außerhalb der Großregion.
