Objectif général : Parmi les sources d’incidents techniques majeurs dans les trains, figure le système PAC (Pantographe-Caténaire) qui garantit l’alimentation des trains électriques en énergie. Les recherches effectuées dans le cadre du projet PACIFIC visent à moyen terme à réduire considérablement les pannes dues au système PAC des trains. Le projet a en effet, pour but la conception et le développement d’un outil CAO (Conception Assistée par Ordinateur) pour les systèmes PAC. Cet outil, sera nommé SIMPAC. Il s’agit d’une plateforme logicielle qui permettra de tester de nouveaux matériaux, de comprendre les problèmes d’usure, de valider des stratégies de contrôle-commande, d’évaluer les effets de pannes, en un mot d’améliorer et d’optimiser les PAC sans recours à des études expérimentales lourdes et coûteuses à travers des bancs de tests ou des essais réels. Principales actions : - Cahier des charges : Réalisation d’un état de l'art des systèmes PAC. Réalisation d’un catalogue des composants du PAC. Simulation des phénomènes électriques et énergétiques. Réalisation d’un catalogue des logiciels de simulation. - Développement : Développement du simulateur de la caténaire Développement du simulateur du pantographe. Elaboration d’algorithmes de contrôle. Simulation des phénomènes électriques et énergétiques. - Déploiement : simulation du PAC.

Main objective : Amongst the various causes of major technical train incidents, one may find the PAC system (Pantograph-Catenary) which guarantees a reliable energy supply for electric trains. In the medium term, the researches carried out in the framework of the PACIFIC project aim to reduce considerably the number of breakdowns caused by the trains’ PAC system. Indeed, the PACIFIC project aims to design and develop a CAD tool (Computer Aided Design) for PAC systems: “SIMPAC”. SIMPAC is a software platform which will allow to test new materials, to understand the problems of wear and tear, to validate control-command strategies, to evaluate the effects of breakdowns, in a word, to improve and to optimize the PAC systems without having to resort to heavy and costly experimental studies by means of a range of live tests or test runs. Main actions : - Simpac specifications: Realization of a PAC systems state of the art Realization of a PAC components catalog Simulation of electrical and thermal phenomena Realization of software simulation catalog - Development : Creation of a simulation module for catenaries and for pantographs Implementation of control algorithms Simulation of electrical and thermal phenomena - Deployment : PAC simulation

Achievements (FR):

Principales réalisations / résultats : - 1 état de l’art réalisé des travaux existants dans la littérature concernant les systèmes PAC. - Différents modèles du pantographe et de la caténaire étudiés et simulés sous le logiciel Matlab. - Etude des solutions pour simuler le système PAC réalisée. - Simulation caténaire : 3 logiciels développés et plusieurs simulations réalisées. - Simulation pantographe : 1 logiciel développé et plusieurs simulations réalisées. - Lois de commande : 1 logiciel développé et algorithmes programmés et validés en simulation. - Articles publiés lors de conférences internationales. - Présentations du projet faites à l’Université Commillas de Madrid, à l’Université Timisoara en Roumanie et auprès de l’UIC, de i-Trans, etc. - Plaquettes de présentation et affiches réalisées.

Main achievements : - Realization of 1 state of the art on pre-existing works on PAC systems - Study and simulation of different pantograph and catenary models via the Matlab software - Realization of a study of solutions to simulate the PAC system - Catenary simulation: development of 3 software and realization of several simulations - Pantograph simulation: development of 1 software and realization of several simulations - Control laws: development of 1 software, algorithms performed and validated in simulation - Publication of several articles in international conferences - Presentation of the project at the University Commillas in Madrid, at the University of Timisoara in Romania, and at UIC, i-Trans etc. - Realization of presentation brochures and posters
