Objectif général : Le milieu rural est constitué, en majorité, de Très Petites Entreprises (TPE), qui sont particulièrement touchées par la crise économique actuelle. Le micro projet RURAL SURVIVE AND GROW a ainsi pour but de favoriser le développement et la pérennisation des Très Petites Entreprises (TPE) des territoires impliqués dans le projet. Le projet propose de comparer les bonnes pratiques en matière de diversification des activités des TPE en milieu rural. Il propose également d’identifier les opportunités d’échanges commerciaux entre ces entreprises et de comprendre les problèmes auxquels ces entreprises font face, afin de formuler des solutions communes entre la France et l’Angleterre. Principales actions : - Création d’une base de données concernant les TPE en milieu rural en Basse-Normandie et dans le Hampshire. - Conception d’un questionnaire d’enquête en anglais et en français et diffusion du questionnaire dans les entreprises cibles en France et en Angleterre. - Analyse des réponses des entreprises pour identifier les différences entre les entreprises anglaises et françaises. - Préparation d’un rapport commun sur des besoins identifiés et sur des bonnes pratiques de lutte contre la crise économique en France et en Angleterre. - Développement d’un cluster d’entreprises du milieu rural en France et en Angleterre. - Identification des obstacles au développement économique et identification de solutions novatrices pour des problèmes tels que : la réduction du temps de transport du domicile au travail des employés, la diversification de la production des entreprises du milieu rural etc.

Main objective : Rural based businesses mostly consist in small enterprises, which are particularly affected by the current economic crisis. The micro-project RURAL SURVIVE AND GROW aims to help smaller businesses survive and grow in the areas involved in the project. It offers to compare best practice in rural-based small business diversification, to identify opportunities for cross trading, and eventually to understand the issues facing these businesses in order to develop joint Anglo/French suggestions. Main actions : - Creation of a database of small rural-based businesses in Lower Normandy and Hampshire. - Design of a bilingual questionnaire survey targeting employers in France and the UK. - Analysis of responses from businesses to identify differences between French and English companies. - Production of a joint report on identified needs and best practice from France and the UK in combating the recession. - Development of a joint cluster of rural companies. - Identification of barriers to economic performance and development of innovative solutions to tackle issues such as: initiatives to improve commuting times to rural areas, diversification of a rural-based business' products etc.
