Objectif général : Depuis 20 ans, le Centre de l’Imaginaire Arthurien situé en Bretagne (Morbihan) s’attache à faire connaître, les légendes bretonnes et celtiques par le biais du tourisme culturel ou par des actions pédagogiques (accueils de classes, interventions dans les établissements scolaires). La rencontre de l’équipe du centre arthurien avec les artistes du village de Chagford a mis en lumière une autre manière d’interpréter les légendes et d’impliquer les habitants de la région dans les projets et réalisations. Le projet « PARTAGER NOS LEGENDES » souhaite établir un échange et une coopération entre artistes et créateurs du Massif de Brocéliande et du Dartmoor (Devon) sur le thème d’une légende commune aux deux régions, afin de permettre une meilleure connaissance des deux cultures. Le thème choisi par les partenaires du projet est le « Lai de Lanval », œuvre d’une poétesse de la fin du 12ème siècle, Marie de France, qui a vécu en France et en Angleterre. Principales actions : - Prise de contact et élaboration pratique des actions : Contacts entre artistes et préparation de l’exposition. Réalisation du pré-script du film. Recherche d’écoles relais. Rencontre de partenaires : mise en commun des ressources, plan exposition, plan de tournage, repérages Brocéliande. Elaboration des décors et des costumes. - Réalisations : Rédaction du dossier pédagogique. Rencontre entre partenaires : présentation presse ; mise en commun des ressources techniques ; rencontres entre artistes et écoles. Mise en place du casting en Bretagne. Réalisation et impression de la plaquette de l’exposition. Exposition des œuvres des artistes et des dessins préparatoires de la vidéo. Tournage en Bretagne et en Angleterre. Mise en place d’une exposition en Angleterre. Présentation du film.

Main objective : For 20 years, the ‘Centre de l’Imaginaire Arthurien’ (the Arthurian Imaginative World Centre) has worked to publicise Breton and Celtic legends via cultural tourism or educational actions (school visits or intervention within schools). The encounter between the team of the Center Arthurien and the Chagford artists revealed another way of interpreting legends and involving people in the projects and realizations. The project SHARED LEGENDS whishes to implement exchanges and cooperation between artists from the Massif of Brocéliande (Brittany) and Dartmoor (Devon) around a legend common to both regions to encourage a better understanding of both cultures. The theme chosen by the project partners is the “Lai de Lanval” (‘Sir Landeval’), a poem written by the poetess Marie de France, who lived in France and in England. Main actions : - Contact and practical developments of actions: Contact between artists and preparation of the exhibition Realization of the film’s pre-script Finding schools for partnership Partners meeting: resource pool, exhibition planning, shooting planning, shooting location in Brocéliande Creation of settings and costumes - Realization: Redaction of the educational kit Partners meeting: press presentation; pooling of technical resources; encounters between artists and classes Casting in Brittany Creation and printing of the exhibition brochure Exhibition of the artists’ works and sketches for the film Shooting in Brittany and England Organisation of an exhibition in England Presentation of the film

Achievements (FR):

Principales réalisations / résultats : - Petit-déjeuner de presse inaugural du projet organisé : présence des principaux médias locaux et régionaux. - 25 artistes français et anglais et plus de 600 personnes ont participé à l’exposition Lanval au château de Comper (1er juillet au 31 août). - 550 personnes présentes lors de l’exposition à la galerie Jaffry de la maison internationale de Rennes (13 septembre au 8 octobre). - 80 scènes différentes tournées pour le film du 16 au 30 mai 2010. - 1 film réalisé « Lanval ».

Main achievements : - Press breakfast to launch the project: the majority of local and regional media attended - 25 English and French artists and more than 600 people attended the Lanval exhibition in the Comper Castle (from July 1st to August 31st) - 550 persons attended the Jaffry gallery exhibition in the International House of Rennes (from September 13th to October 8th) - 80 different scenes were shot for the film between from May 16th to 30th 2010 - Realization of a film: ‘Lanval’
