Objectif général : Depuis juin 2005, l’espace 36 et Dover Arts Development collaborent pour la mise en place de projets transfrontaliers en art contemporain. L’objectif des partenaires du projet est d’intensifier les connaissances et les échanges des deux côtés de la Manche à travers des recherches artistiques cordonnées, qui questionnent non seulement la création artistique contemporaine dans l’espace transfrontalier mais aussi la relation des habitants avec leur territoire. Le projet RESIDER/RESIDE vise ainsi à consolider la coopération transfrontalière entre les professionnels de l’art contemporain ; à créer un dialogue entre les artistes et une découverte de leurs perspectives socio-culturelles respectives et à offrir une connaissance plus large de chaque région pour les artistes, les partenaires et les publics. Principales actions : - Sélection et résidences de deux artistes conjointement en Nord-Pas de Calais et Kent (15 jours en Angleterre et 15 jours en France). - Mise en place de médiations axées sur les relations aux publics et aux artistes en France et en Angleterre. - Mise en place d’une exposition à Saint-Omer. - Mise en place d’une exposition à Douvres.

Main objective : Since June 2005, Espace 36 and Dover Arts Development have worked together to establish cross-border contemporary art projects. The partners want to enhance knowledge and exchanges from both sides of the Channel through joint artistic research, to address not only contemporary artistic creation in the cross-border area but also the connection of the local residents with their region. RESIDER/RESIDE thus aims to strengthen cross-border co-operation between contemporary art professionals, to create a dialogue between artists and an understanding of their respective socio-cultural perspectives and to offer a wider knowledge of each region for the artists, partners and audiences. Main actions : - Selection of two artists for a joint artist-in-residence programme in Nord-Pas de Calais en Kent (15 days in the UK and 15 days in France) - Implementation of mediations oriented towards the relations with the public and the artists, in France and in the UK - Organisation of an exhibition in Saint-Omer - Organisation of an exhibition in Douvres

Achievements (FR):

Principales réalisations / résultats : - 2 accueils en résidences d’artistes : Pierre-Yves Brest et Sharon Haward (15 jours en Angleterre et 15 jours en France). - 2 étudiants en médiation (un anglais et un français) sous la conduite d’Elodie Liévin ont suivi le parcours de création des artistes. - Plusieurs visites de classes réalisées lors de l’exposition à St Omer. - 1000 brochures bilingues sur le projet mises à disposition dans les expositions. - 2000 catalogues couleurs bilingue édités.

Main achievements : - 2 artists-in-residence programmes: Pierre-Yves Brest and Sharon Haward (15 days in England and 15 days in France) - 2 mediation students (1 French and 1 English), under the supervision of Elodie Liévin, followed the artists’ creative steps - Several classes visited the Saint-Omer exhibition - 1000 bilingual brochures were distributed in the context of the exhibitions - Edition of 2000 bilingual color catalogues.
