Objectif général : Le projet « Agissons autour des déchets » vise à développer des actions durables favorisant une optimisation de la gestion des déchets et une meilleure protection de l’environnement. Ce partenariat transfrontalier et multi-secteurs, entre la France et l’Angleterre, est développé par des intervenants disposant d’approches et d’expériences différentes en ce qui concerne la gestion des déchets. Le public bénéficiaire de ces actions est varié. D'un côté comme de l'autre de la Manche, ce projet permet de soutenir des structures et des personnes de tous horizons : petites et moyennes entreprises ; associations ; écoles ; collectivités locales et plus globalement les habitants des zones géographiques concernées. Principales actions : - Renforcement de services de conseil et de soutien pour l’amélioration des pratiques de gestion environnementale dans les secteurs publics, privés, bénévoles et éducatifs. - Développement de programmes de formation à la minimisation des déchets à l'intention des PME. - Audits sur les déchets dans les écoles, les PME et les associations. - Développement de programmes conjoints de formation transfrontaliers sur la gestion des déchets et l'efficacité des ressources pour le personnel des autorités locales. - Mise en place de stratégies de communication et de campagnes de sensibilisation avec les collectivités et les écoles pour améliorer la gestion des déchets. - Mise en place de projets pilotes pour la gestion des déchets ménagers.

Description (EN):

Main objective : The Waste in Action project aims to develop sustainable actions encouraging an optimization of waste management and enhanced environmental practices. This cross-border, multi-sectors partnership between France and England is managed by stakeholders presenting different approaches and experiences regarding waste management. The beneficiaries of these actions are many. On both sides of the Channel, this project allows to support structures and people from every background: SMEs, charities, schools, local authorities and, more generally, the inhabitants of the involved geographical areas. Main actions : - Support to public, private, voluntary and education sectors in setting up and maintaining environmental management practices - Environmental management training for SMEs to help reducing their waste - Organization of waste audits in schools, SMEs and charities - Development of joint training programmes on waste management and resources efficiency for local authorities’ staff - Implementation of communication strategies and awareness-raising campaigns with local authorities and schools to improve waste management - Implementation of pilot projects for household waste management

Achievements (FR):

Principales réalisations / résultats : - 150 entreprises anglaises et 30 entreprises françaises ont bénéficié d’un service de conseil et de soutien. - Audits sur les déchets menés : 20 écoles en Grande-Bretagne et 6 écoles en France ; 50 entreprises en Grande-Bretagne. - 80 agents de collectivités en charge de la gestion de déchets ont participé à des sessions de formation organisées avec le CNFPT et l’Université de Brighton (40 agents en France et 40 en Grande-Bretagne). - Parcours pédagogiques réalisés en Normandie et dans l’East Sussex sous la forme de circuits de promenades avec panneaux éducatifs sur les déchets. - Test pour le compostage des produits alimentaires mis en place à avec des restaurants à l’échelle locale : Le café de Needlemakers et Le Magasin (Lewes – East Sussex). - Filière pour la valorisation des déchets de bois développée en partenariat avec plusieurs déchetteries (Haute-Normandie). - Outils de communication réalisés : site internet, documents pédagogiques bilingues téléchargeables sur le site http://www.smedar-junior.fr/

Achievements (EN):

Main achievements : - 150 businesses in UK and 30 in France benefited from resource efficiency advice and support. - Beneficiaries of waste audits: 20 schools in UK, 6 schools in France, 50 businesses in UK. - 80 local authorities officers in charge of waste management attended the training sessions organized by the CNFPT (Centre national de la Fonction publique Territoriale) and the University of Brighton (40 officers in France and 40 in UK) - Realization of educational trails in Normandy and East Sussex in the form of walking trails with information signs on waste management - Organic waste composting trial implemented on the local scale with restaurants (Needlemakers coffee shop and Le Magasin – Lewes, East Sussex) - Development of a wood waste valorization branch in partnership with various waste reception centres (Upper-Normandy) - Communication tools: website, joint bilingual educational documents available on the website: http://www.smedar-junior.fr
