Objectif général : L’objectif principal du projet LiCCo est de donner aux communautés de la Manche la capacité de s’adapter au changement climatique côtier et d’améliorer les lieux et les services publics. Les neuf sites pilotes étudiés dans le cadre du projet se trouvent en Normandie, dans le Devon et le Dorset (sud ouest de l’Angleterre). Les partenaires travailleront avec les communautés côtières de ces sites qui font face à des menaces relatives à l’érosion côtière et à l’élévation du niveau de la mer. Principales actions : - Collecte et mise en réseau des informations : Développement d’un réseau d’acteurs des secteurs public et privé, évaluation et activités mobiles. Réalisation d’un rapport sur le contexte stratégique régional et transfrontalier de l’élévation du niveau de la mer et de l’érosion côtière. Sensibilisation des communautés et des organisations locales aux conséquences et implication des stratégies côtières et sensibilisation aux caractéristiques du Plan de gestion du littoral. - Partage et développement des meilleures pratiques : Adaptation des méthodes et des outils existants pour inclure les acteurs locaux en établissant des liaisons avec les projets Interreg : 2150, CAMIS, C-Scope, BRANCH et Aquamanche. Définition du profil social, économique et environnemental des sites pilotes. Mise en place d’une exposition transfrontalière avec montages photos et vidéos montrant le changement de l’apparence du port de Poole et de l’estuaire de l’Orne. Modélisation pour évaluer la performance des défenses contre les inondations dans les conditions actuelles. Développement d’indicateurs des évolutions du benthos, des habitats, de l’avifaune etc. ; recherches d’espèces indicatrices du changement passereaux/limicoles et identification des reposoirs. - Diffusion et mise en pratique : élaboration de recommandations politiques à destination des décideurs locaux, régionaux, nationaux et internationaux.

Description (EN):

Main objective : The main aim of the LiCCo project is to empower Channel communities to adapt to coastal climate change and to create better places and better public services. The nine pilot sites studied in the project’s framework are located in Normandy, Devon and Dorset. The partners will work with coastal communities living in these sites and who are confronted by the threat of impacts from sea level rise and coastal erosion. Main actions : - Information Gathering & Networking: - Development of network of public and business sector stakeholders, evaluation and outreach activities. - Regional characteristics report establishing a strategic regional and cross border context to sea level rise and coastal erosion - Awareness raising of the outputs and implications that the Shoreline Management Plan and Coastal Strategies findings have on local communities and organisations - Sharing & Developing Best Practice: - Adapting existing tools and methods for engaging local stakeholders through liaison with Interreg projects; 2150, CAMIS, C-Scope, BRANCH and Aquamanche. - Definition of pilot site social, economic and environmental profiles - Organisation of a cross border exhibition with visual representations of changes to the coastline through photos and video montages showing the changing face of Poole harbour and Estuaire de l'Orne - Modelling flood defence condition performance assessment - Developing indicators to monitor changes in the benthos, bird habitats etc. - Dissemination & Mainstreaming: redaction of political recommendations for the local, regional, national and international decision-makers.
