Description (EN):

Abaco addresses actions to evaluate, improve, preserve, enhance, promote and promote the bathing and coastal waters of Macaronesia, for the conservation of natural values and tourism promotion. Actions include: studies of water quality and beach sands, development of computer applications for the management of beaches and coastal areas, creation of tools and applications, proposals for appropriate wastewater treatments and optimal discharge conditions, marine pollution risk assessment systems, assessment of indicators of the ecological status of coastal areas, etc. At the same time ABACO will improve the qualification of the agents involved in coastal water management, through specific knowledge transfer days.

Description (ES):

ABACO aborda acciones para evaluar, mejorar, preservar, valorizar, fomentar y promocionar las aguas de baño y costeras de la Macaronesia, para la conservación de los valores naturales y la promoción turística. Entre las acciones se incluyen: estudios de calidad del agua y de arenas de playas, desarrollo de aplicaciones informáticas para la gestión de playas y zonas costeras, creación de herramientas y aplicaciones, propuestas de tratamientos adecuados de aguas residuales y condiciones óptimas de vertido, sistemas de evaluación de riesgos de contaminación marina, evaluación de indicadores del estado ecológico de áreas costeras, etc. Al mismo tiempo ABACO mejorará la cualificación de los agentes implicados en la gestión de aguas costeras, a través de jornadas específicas de transferencia de conocimiento.
