Minimising the loss of species by creating habitats for endangered plant and animal species in municipalities and private gardens through linking natural living spaces is the goal of the project. The project area of "Living Gardens", the cross-border region Austria/Hungary, is located in the unique Pannonian region where new solution aproaches for species protection are transnationally developed and are carried out in pilot municipalities. The project tranfers the issue of species protection to municipalities and to gardens.A manual in three languages (German/Hungarian/English) is developed by describing the policy for species protection and by providing concrete instructions how to build model habitats in order to protect endangered species in gardens. It guarantees a good transferability of the project outputs onto other regions and the usage of the results.In the project-municipalities Pfaffstätten, Tatttendorf and Trumau (Austria) and Gyenesdiás and Zalakaros (Hungary) show-habitats are built which are accessbile for visitors. The show-habitats are designed to allow easy reconstruction in gardens and to provide private persons with know-how so they are able to build model habitats in their gardens and to protect indicator species.The propagation of endangered Pannonian plant species which are placed at the disposal of gardeners of the project-area complements all measures taken by the project.Living Gardens gives individuals the knowledge to actively contribute to the protection of biodiversity.The project puts a spotlight on the protection of endangered species by using a wide variety of communication policies and the involvement of diverse media channels.

A projekt célja a fajok csökkenésének megfékezése élőhelyek létrehozásával a veszélyeztetett növény- és állatfajok védelme érdekében a községekben és a házak körüli kertekben természetes élőhelyeik összekötésének céljából. A „Living Gardens” projektterület, Ausztria/Magyarország határrégiója, az egyedülálló pannon területen található, és erre ez egész régióra dolgozzuk ki határon átnyúló együttműködéssel a kihalástól fenyegetett állat-/növényfajok védelmének új megoldásait, és ezeket a pilot településeken valósítjuk meg. A projekt a kihalástól fenyegetett állat-/növényfajok védelmét népszerűsíti a községekben és a házak körüli kertekben.A projektben egy útmutatót dolgozunk ki, amely három nyelven (DE/HU/EN) mutatja be a kihalástól fenyegetett fajok védelmének stratégiáját, és konkrét útmutatást ad a minta élőhelyek kialakításához a veszélyeztetett fajok megőrzése céljából a házak kertjében. Ez az útmutató garantálja a projekt outputjainak más régiókban való alkalmazását, és az eredmények felhasználását.A projektben résztvevő településeken, vagyis Pfaffstätten, Tattendorf és Trumau (AT), valamint Gyenesdiás és Zalakaros (HU), olyan bemutató élőhelyeket hozunk létre, amelyek hozzáférhetőek a látogatók számára. Ezeket az élőhelyeket úgy alakítjuk ki, hogy azok mintájára ezeket a kertekben könnyen kialakíthassunk, és a módszert átadhassuk a magánszemélyeknek, hogy a kertjeikben önállóan is létesíthessenek élőhelyeket a veszélyeztetett fajok védelme érdekében.Kiegészítve az intézkedéseket, sor kerül a veszélyeztetett pannon növényfajok gyarapítására, melyeket a projektrégió kertészeinek rendelkezésére bocsátunk.A Living Gardens tudást közvetít a magánszemélyek számára, hogy saját maguk is hozzájáruljanak a fajok biológiai sokféleségének megóvásához.A sokrétű kommunikációs stratégia révén, beleértve a különböző médiacsatornák használatát, a kommunikáció központjában a veszélyeztetett fajok védelme áll.

Ziel des Projekts ist die Eindämmung des Artenverlusts durch die Schaffung von Lebensräumen für gefährdete Pflanzen- und Tierarten in Gemeinden und Hausgärten zur Vernetzung ihrer natürlichen Lebensäume. Das Projektgebiet von “Living Gardens”, die Grenzregion Österreich/Ungarn, befindet sich in der einzigartigen pannonischen Region und für diese gesamte Region werden länderübergreifend neue Lösungsansätze des Artenschutzes entwickeltet und in Pilotgemeinden umgesetzt. Das Projekt bringt Artenschutz in die Gemeinden und Hausgärten.Im Projekt wird ein Leitfaden erstellt, der in drei Sprachen (DE/HU/EN) die Artenschutzstrategie beschreibt und konkrete Anleitungen für die Errichtung von Leitbiotopen zum Schutz gefährdeter Arten im Hausgarten gibt. Er gewährleistet eine gute Übertragbarkeit der Projektoutputs in andere Regionen und die Nutzung der Ergebnisse.In den Projektgemeinden Pfaffstätten, Tatttendorf und Trumau (Österreich) sowie Gyenesdiás und Zalakaros (Ungarn) werden Schau-Lebensräume errichtet, die für BesucherInnen zugänglich sind. Die Schau-Lebensräume sind so gestaltet, dass sie leicht im Garten nachgebaut werden können und Privatpersonen das Know-how vermitteln, um selbständig in den Gärten Leitbiotope zu errichten und Leitarten zu schützen.Die Vermehrung gefährdeter pannonischer Pflanzenarten, die den GärtnerInnen der Projektregion zur Verfügung gestellt werden, rundet die Maßnahmen ab.Living Gardens vermittelt Privatpersonen das Wissen um selbst aktiv zum Schutz der Artenvielfalt beizutragen.Mit einer Vielfalt an Kommunikationsstrategien unter Einbindung unterschiedlichster Medienkanäle stellt das Projekt den Schutz gefährdeter Arten ins Zentrum der Kommunikation.

Expected Outputs (HU): A természetvédelmi területeket élőhelyfoltok kötik össze, mely növeli a veszélyeztetett fajok élőhelyeinek stabilitását és ellenálló képességét, és hozzájárul a biológiai sokféleség megőrzéséhez és javításához.

Expected Outputs (DE): Naturschutzflächen sind durch Trittsteinbiotope vernetzt. Dadurch wird die Stabilität und Resilienz gefährdeter Ökosysteme erhöht und zur Erhaltung und Verbesserung von Biodiversität beigetragen.
