Description (FR): Près de 200 000 patients avec accidents vasculaires cérébraux bénéficieront d’une nouvelle génération de robot exosquelette. L’introduction de cette nouvelle technologie contribuera optimiser la rééducation des patients et réduira les coûts médicaux. Le projet AiBle permettra de concevoir et de produire un exosquelette des membres supérieurs, différent des produits du marché avec des fonctionnalités avancées pour une rééducation active, à distance pour améliorer le traitement et réduire les coûts.Combiner Intelligence Artificielle (IA), Réalité Virtuelle (RV) et traitement sur le web sur un exosquelette ABLE7D existant contribuera à cet objectf.
De nouveaux capteurs pour reconnaître l’intention de mouvement des patients victime d’AVC recueilleront les biosignaux des patients et les enverront sur le Cloud. Leur traitement Cloud centralisé contribuera à améliorer le modèle pour mieux reconnaitre l’intention de mouvement de chaque patient, conduisant à une rééducation plus rapide. Le projet utilisera la réalité virtuelle pour faire réaliserdes tâches réalistes aux patients pendant leur rééducation. Cela améliorera l’intuitivité du nouveau système.
Les produits disponibles sur le marché ne disposent pas de capteurs intégrés ou de traitement Cloud et n’utilisent pas le retour haptique en RV. La rééducation est longue et épargne peu le temps précieux des soignants qui doivent intervenir. Notre système permettra des traitements simultanés et multiples par les thérapeutes pour réduire leur charge de travail améliorer les résultats et l’autonomie des patients. L’impact économique global du projet est estimé à 200 millions de £ pour la région Manche. Notre système permettra un nouveau paradigme de rééducation pour une utilisation à long terme. Ainsi, un nouveau protocole de rééducation sera développé en parallèle de la plateforme.
Le partenariat s’appuiera sur l’expertise de recherche de nos partenaires universitaires pour soutenir le développement des partenaires industriels. La R&D dans ce projet est essentielle pour l’amélioration des produits actuels et réussir leur commercialisation. Les services de soins privés et publics bénéficieront de l’efficacité accrue du dispositif pour réduire leurs coûts. Les PME locales fabriquant des appareils médicaux bénéficieront de la croissance du marché qui devra répondre aux besoins de nouveaux traitements de rééducation. Au cours du projet, plus de 200 patients de la région de la Manche recevront le nouveau traitement par plus de 10 praticiens parmi nos partenaires cliniques. Avec plus de 1 000 organisations membres des réseaux de santé, ce projet devrait toucher jusqu’à 200 000 patients avec AVC dans la région Manche et contribuer à la formation de plus de 10 000 professionnels du secteur de la rééducation. Il bénéficiera également à une vingtaine d’entreprises de fabrication de systèmes d’exosquelette intelligents dans la région Manche.
Read more Description (EN): Nearly 200,000 stroke patients will benefit from a new generation of exoskeleton robot. The introduction of this new technology will help with the efficiency of patient rehabilitation and significantly reduce medical costs. Project AiBle will design and produce an upper limb exoskeleton robot, which will differ from other products on the market because its advanced functionality will enable remote and active rehabilitation with better treatment effects and lower costs. This improvement will be achieved by the integration of artificial intelligence, virtual reality and cloud computing with an existing exoskeleton ABLE7D.
The project will introduce novel sensors to recognise post-stroke patients’ motion intention. These sensors will collect biosignals from the patients and send them to a cloud based data processing centre. The centralised processing of these signals will contribute to an improved model for better recognition of each person’s motion intention, leading to faster rehabilitation. The project will use virtual reality to provide patients with realistic tasks to carry out during the rehabilitation process. This improves intuitiveness of the new system.
Current products in the market do not have embedded sensors or cloud processing and do not use virtual reality based rehabilitation. This results in a long rehabilitation time and intensive use of, often limited, human resource in the healthcare sector. Our novel system will allow simultaneous and multiple treatments by therapists to reduce such burdens on the resource, and significantly improve patient outcomes. The overall economic impact of this project is estimated to reach £200M for the Channel region. Our system will enable a novel rehabilitation paradigm for long-term use. As such, there will be a new rehabilitation protocol developed alongside the new exoskeleton.
The partnership will leverage the research expertise of our university partners to support the development of SME industrial partners, who are not active in related research. The R&D in this project is critical for the successful enhancement and commercialisation of current products. The healthcare providers in both private and public sectors will benefit from the improved efficiency of therapy to reduce their costs. The local SME manufacturers of healthcare devices will benefit from the market growth expected to meet the needs for new rehabilitation treatment. During the project, more than 200 patients in the Channel region will receive the novel rehabilitation treatment from more than 10 practitioners within our 2 clinical partners. With more than 1,000 member organisations of our intermediaries’ networks, this project is expected to reach up to 200,000 stroke patients in the Channel region and help train more than 10,000 rehabilitation professionals. It will also benefit around 20 companies in manufacturing the intelligent exoskeleton systems in the Channel region, after the project.

Ceci résulte en l’amélioration de l’efficacité, et donc la réduction du temps nécessaire à la récupération et la réduction du travail humain, qui contribuera à modifier le niveau de prestation et à adopter des services de rééducation innovants.
