Description (EN):

The main reason for lanuching EFINTIS project is the increasing need for better connections of transport subjects in the region and keeping up with ICT requirements of today. The strategy of this project is also to harmonize the ICT actions of the region with EU standarads and requirements. In order to have an effective maritime and other intermodal transport connections these requirements need to be met. With detailed analysis of technological environment in port systems of Bar, Bari, Durres, Termoli and other important transport subjects in logistic nodes of Albania, Italy and Motenegro, the neccessity for futher ICT development is recognzied as a main step towards creating regional cooperation network. By upgrading and optimizing existing PCS platforms in Bar, and Bari and by setting a milestone and forming a ICT tools in Durres and Termoli, the door for futher integration is open, even more so with the Develoment plan for establishment of logistic ceneters in Albania and the possibility of their ICT connecting. Considering these actions, the region will benefit thanks to conrete ICT upgrades and methological tools that are to surpass the life of the project and help regional multimodality by producing impact on the region with conrecte actions and measures. It is also expected, that, through EFINTIS project, the activities and the main ouputs will not only serve the partnership but will also serve as a channel for enhancing stakeholders involvement and planning capacities, transport competences, operators efficiency since all actors are facing similar obstacles in terms of multimodal transport.

Expected Results (EN): Agreements for cross-border passengers and freight sustainable transport systems and multimodal mobility solutions.

Expected Outputs (EN):

As a main result of the project Memorandum of Understanding will be signed among five project partners fostering mutual cooperation and creation of new solutions for challenges which constantly appear in intermodal transport. It will be a milestone for further cooperation of national ports and ports of regional significance, especially when it comes to the concept of intermodal transport and its advantages between ports of Bar, Durres, Bari and Termoli. MoU will establish cooperation network involving all actors who will sign specific simplifying measures with regard to intermodal transport and it is directly connected with programme result.
