Description
Read more Description (EN): In order to concretely promote sustainable coastal tourism in line with EU policies, COASTING PLUS builds upon COASTING efforts to introduce a tool for integrated governance of sustainable and responsible coastal tourism in Med area. COASTING tackled the fragmentation of responsibilities and policies in coastal tourism management, by capitalizing the experience of a multilevel governance tool (Coast Contract) and producing a common Methodology for establishing a multi-sectorial and multi-stakeholder participatory process, leading to the signature of an agreement through which public/private actors commit to implement a shared strategy. COASTING PLUS will transfer this output in 5 new territories through a transferring process combining training sessions and site-specific practical applications, which will lead the receiver partners (and their Associated partners and key stakeholders) in launching Coast Contract processes in target regions, with the technical support of giver partners. The project will achieve 2 main results: - at local level: signature of 5 protocols (by receivers with key stakeholders and APs) including site-specific roadmaps for the establishment of a Coast Contract for sustainable tourism in each new target area;- at Med level: signature of a MoU for the adoption the Methodology (by receiver PPs), for renewing the commitment for its application (by giver PPs), and to advocate for transferring and institutional uptake (by both givers and receivers).
